Our lives depend on the natural environments,

but mankind is turning them into wastelands.

Forests are one of the most important resources we have.

They produce life-giving oxygen and they play a key role in carbon storage to combat climate change.
Trees are like a giant carbon storage facility, they take carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere, and the bigger the tree the more carbon it holds, the bigger the forest the more carbon it holds, cutting down forests release carbon into the atmosphere. This also contributes to global warming; dead trees don’t produce the life-giving oxygen we need to breathe. But there is more…
Each forest helps to prevent ground erosion, landslides and avalanches. The roots of trees help in the fertilization process of the soil, crucial in the creation of food and habitat for all the species of the world.

Forests cover around 30% of the planet’s landmass,

but humans are cutting them down, wiping out entire ecosystems on a massive scale.

How fast?

Our planet is losing more than 18 million acres of forests every year. That’s about 27 football fields every minute. Almost one every 2 seconds.

If we want to survive, we have to stop cutting down the forests and start growing them.

Not only for us but for the species that live on Earth and for our kids and grandkids. They deserve to enjoy forests as much as we have done so far. Without oxygen, mankind cannot survive.
